A memorial was unveiled on 4th November 2006 at the Holly Bush pub in Greenhaugh, Northumberland  to remember the six crew members killed onboard Wellington Mk.IC X3171 which crashed nearby on 1st March 1943.

The aircraft was on a training flight from 15 OTU RAF Harwell, Berkshire when it crashed at approx. 15:15 at Comb Hill, 9 miles NW of Bellingham.

The six crew were:
Pilot: Sgt David Llewellyn Barley, age 20
Navigator: Sgt William Stanley Gibson, age 20 (Grave at Stamfordham)
Bomb-Aimer: P/O Joseph Donnelly, age 20
Bomb-Aimer: P/O Thomas Winstanley, age 20
Air Gunner: Sgt George Marshall, age 21 (Grave at Trimdon Grange)
WAG: Sgt Dennis Ronald Bending, age 22
