Although the airframe has been saved the hard work isn't over and a major task to re-assemble & preserve to display conditions will need to be resourced and paid for. See the Save the Trident website for further information regarding this exciting project.

- Military Vehicle Museum - Newcastle upon Tyne
As a result of the deteriorating condition of their building the Trustees took the decision on health and safety ground to close the military vehicle museum and relocate to a new site. The proposed location for the new site fell through due to flooding in 2008 so it was agreed that the museum should relocate and combine with the North East Aircraft Museum at Sunderland. Feasibility studies are now underway to develop both the collections in exciting new displays. The military collection consists of a large social history collection which in the Newcastle building was split into the following themes:
-
The Great War
-
The Home front (North East Blitz)
-
World War 2
